Unrequited Love: The Bird God Sent Me

A Red Cardinal sang to me, one morning.

It woke me from my sleep.

It comforted me; reminding me the mountain of regaining consciousness in this reality wasn't so steep.

As the mountain peaked, rotating on top of a molten core of heat; I'm reminded of the grace God has shown me.

Because of my distance from the peak; Because of the soil under my feet; Because of the bedrock, even more deep; I never had to feel the magma beneath.

And in that moment of gratitude, I was ready to start my day.

Looking for your love; as if it was one step away.
