I always thought my dad and older brother were the dopest people ever.

My Dad took me to see Star Wars for the first time.

My older brother worked at Blockbuster.

He had Mario Party, but would never let me play.

Torture… to say the least.

But I persevered through the barrier and watched like it was the only thing on TV.

2005 | Christmas

I always thought skateboarding was dope. I just could never do it right.

Maybe basketball shoes and other sneakers didn’t bode well.

Seemed like an injury risk to me.

Couldn’t let it jeopardize my football career.

So I would normally watch my friends skate and try to jump the ramp on my bike.

But on this Christmas… my world changed.

Under the tree; a gift for me and my brother.

We both rush to open it.

I felt like my life was complete.

All I ever wanted was to feel what it was like to do a 900…

Now I have a portal to that very reality.

Look At God.

This was the beginning of sleepless nights.

The first time I felt what it was like to watch the sun set and rise in one conscious lap.

My perception of time was no longer in a fixed position.
